Community Valaikappu (Baby Shower) Program
Program is a community based event conducted in all the sectors (1782 sectors) of 32 districts of Tamilnadu on a fixed day . An amount of Rs. 10,000/- is being allotted to meet out the expenditure for medical check-up, to print and distribute booklet on antenatal, postnatal and child care, lunch, bangles, and other miscellaneous expenses like banner, photos etc for each district. More than 40 participants participate in each sector. Around 97,000 antenatal mothers benefit yearly in this program . This program is conducted along with convergence of Health & Family welfare, Panchayati raj, department civic bodies and through active community participation.

The CBE events are conducted with five themes as per POSHAN Abhiyaan revised guidelines.

Tamil Nadu in convergence with Allied line departments conducted Rashtriya POSHAN Maah (RPM), POSHAN Pakhwada and other IEC activities. Chief Secretary reviewed the District Collectors on 10-09-2018 through Video Conference regarding RPM activities in their districts which forever yielded excellent results on convergence related activities.

Capacity Building (Special Initiative)
Stickers / BI Monthly Magazine / Posters / Danglers With Health And Hygiene Messages
Laminated water proof Stickers depicting messages on health and nutritional aspects of AN /PN Mothers and about Adolescent girls hygiene care/ practices were printed and supplied to all the AWC's. In all AWC's were display with the Stickers/ Bi Monthly Magazine/ Posters/ Danglers etc., for the residences of AN/PN mothers and Adolescent girls in their locality to create awareness on health, nutrition and Hygiene.
One Day Workshop For The Newly Married Couples
One day workshop for the Newly Married Couples are conducted at block level all over the state towards creating awareness on planned parenthood and Infant and Young Child feeding Nutrition and health Practices.
This programme is conducted in coordination with allied line departments and other resource presons. A hand book with tips on planned parenthood and IYCF parctices are also printed and supplied to the participants.
